When you are starting out in business you will probably require a van or commercial vehicle. It’s a basic requirement for any business to have the right means of transport to reach & service their clients. However in this current credit crunch it can be very hard to obtain the finance you need to buy your business vehicle.

With the credit crunch & economic slowdown in the UK now has never been a better time to buy a new or used van. Because less people are buying vehicles, dealers are offering staggering discounts with van prices slashed by as much as 40% off the usual price.

Smart self employed people & small businesses will take advantage of the credit crunch and buy their van or commercial vehicle now using guaranteed van finance.

Hire Purchase / van finance is the most popular of all finance packages available. It offers excellent affordability and is simple to apply for regardless of a persons current credit status.

- Ownership at the end of the agreed term – Once the agreement has ended, you can sell the vehicle and keep 100% of the proceeds from the sale. There is no balloon or other large payments to make at the end of the agreement. On the last payment of the vehicle, it’s yours!

Choose a deposit that you can afford & which suits your budget. The bigger your deposit, the lower your monthly payments.

- Entitlement to writing down allowances – Can mean that you pay less to the taxman* by writing off some or all of your vehicle finance payments against your tax bill.

Your finance is on the vehicle.

- Fixed term / rate – flexible tailored finance to suit your needs. You know exactly what you have to pay and when, allowing you to plan ahead and stay in control of your finances

In today’s financial climate you need a commercial vehicle finance company that can offer you finance for any credit history, same day decisions, low interest rates & main dealership standard vehicles.

In the UK there is only one real choice for used van finance, guaranteed van finance & vehicle loans and that’s Vehicle Funding Ltd.

This includes financing of vans, light trucks, 4×4′s and even buy a minibus. You can even finance a used or a new vehicle also. The model and year of the vehicle together with the actual cost of the vehicle are taken into account in order to ascertain affordability.

The finance company takes a look on your credit scores, employment-ability, and your bank statements. Based on the verification, the van finance company takes a decision if how much money should be granted to you. Later, you get a confirmation regarding your eligibility for vehicle finance.

The interest rate for vehicle finance varies with your circumstances and with the lending company you choose to provide you with Van Finance.

A borrower with either a good credit score or a bad credit history is eligible to apply for commercial vehicle finance.

What can I do about a van outside my house for 3 months?

The guy from 2 streets away owns a washing machine shop and has parked a van outside my front door since October. The van has not moved because he uses it as storage only. There is tax on it but the van is clearly used for commercial storage, it is old and nasty looking. It annoys me as he is blocking sunlight to downstairs and when I cross the road, because it is a large box van, it is hard to see traffic coming.
I have e-mailed my council twice and so has my neighbour. Fife council are not helpful in the slightest. Any ideas??

Have you approached the shop owner and asked him to move it? Be nice and polite and rational about it. Just explain the situation. he might genuinely not realise that it has caused a problem. But it’s worth having an adult conversation with him about it. I know you are frustrated, but try not to let it show. Be nice and friendly – that is the way to get people to do what you want them to. And if he moves it maybe drop round a box of chocolates to say thanks. keep a bit of community spirit alive. Just don’t go in there guns blazing, all mouth about it. That is the way to rile him.

Technically he’s done nothing wrong. If he has parked his vehicle there and not breaking any traffic laws then there is nothing that can be done. If the tax is valid, and any necessary permits are displayed there is very little the council can or will do. Which is why I think talking to the owner rationally is the best idea.

If it doesn’t work then you could always pay to have it towed away. But how legal that is, I’m not sure, and it’s certainly not very moral, so I’d be very wary of doing that if I were you.
